About the author

My name is Ghislain Fourny and I am a Lecturer and Senior Scientist at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where I coordinate the Data Science Master's Programme.

I started working on alternate solution concepts in game theory after meeting and collaborating with Prof. Jean-Pierre Dupuy at Stanford University in 2004, who planted the philosophical seed of how to weaken the free choice assumption in two founding papers.

I am also indebted to all the ETH students who worked on this topic under my supervision: Felipe Sulser, Ramon Gomm, Emilien Pilloud, Michal Baczyk, Florian Pauschitz, as well as to Stéphane Reiche, my co-author for the solution concept on games in extensive form with perfect information.
